I. Organizational Context
Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is a United Nations agency which
provides technical assistance in Indonesia. One of our projects
since 2006 provides support for the control of Avian Influenza, in cooperation
with national and regional Indonesian government livestock authorities. Project
activities are conducted in various locations nationwide.

Under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative the Avian Influenza
Control ProgrammeTeam Leader, the Project Chief Technical Advisor and under the
direct supervision of the Project Manager/Operations Coordinator, the National?
Logistics Manager is responsible in performing and providing full day-to-day
management of logistics and inventory for the Avian Influenza Project Office at
Deptan and related field activities in accordance with FAO's rules and
regulations.? This will include the provision of administrative support
functions to the team to facilitate the implementation of HPAI control field
activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
II. Functions / Key Results Expected
Summary of key functions:
* Supervise the Logistics Assistants in recording and maintenance of procured goods and services for the programme;
* Supervise shipment of items using courier or postal services;
* Monitor inventory of supplies in the field (31 Local Disease Control Centres or LDCCs);
* Create distribution plan of project supplies and equipment;
* Monitor physical inventories and update record; as appropriate;
* Maintain records for the assignment and return of equipment issued to the staff;
* Review monthly monitoring of non-expendable records against periodic physical inventory reports;
* Check and monitor appropriate storage, security and maintenance of all non-expendable equipment physically;
* Develop and maintain inventory report;
* Assist in delivering shipments and storage and maintenance
of all equipment and supplies in the field and from Project Office in Menara
Thamrin and all LDCC field offices;
* Coordinate with Procurement Assistant re timely delivery of
requested equipment, and office materials;
* Manage and monitor assignments and maintenance of office
project vehicles and assist in preparing and handling vehicle incident/accident
reports;
* Keep accurate filing and records systems;
* Write weekly report on logistics activities to the
International Operations Coordinator

The key results have an impact on the success of FAO / GOI Avian Influenza
Control Programme implementation in Indonesia.

V. Recruitment Qualifications

Education:
* Appropriate Bachelor's degree or university degree/diploma
with administraive background
Experience:

* Minimum of 3 years work experience in logistics and
inventory management, preferably with UN Agencies or FAO project;
* Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel
programmes;
* Good knowledge of the English language;
* Effective organizational skills and ability to handle volume
of work in an efficient and timely manner;
* Good planning and coordination skills;
* Ability to produce high quality work under pressure and meet
all deadlines set;
* Good interpersonal and communication skills are necessary
and will be assessed during interview;
* Ability to work in a multicultural environment with
sensitivity and respect to diversity; and
* Has the ability to work with minimum supervision.

Language requirements:
Excellent written and spoken English, strong command in
spoken and written Bahasa Indonesia
